I found this widget called “CharacterPal”, it has an option that lets you drag the widget to the desktop. All you have to do is start dragging the widget as you press F12. The good thing is that once the option is enabled you don’t need to keep “CharacterPal” open in the dashboard, so you can close it an still drag your favorite widget to the desktop. Hope this is helpful, enjoy!
I don’t know if this is common knowledge, but I accidently stumbled upon this widget trick. If you double click your Calendar widget, it shows you your appointments for the next hour or so from the iCal. So, I just have to move the mouse to a hotkey to see my schedule instead of launching iCal.
Open the dashboard and show the Weather widget. Hold down Option + Command and click the widget. You will now see the Weather in Nowhere.
It appears the Leopard Tricks widget is getting rather popular, and I can see why. The widget is a really easy way to get all the latest information from the leopardtricks.com web site right into your dashboard.
