Here’s a handy trick submitted by Hamish:
When using a background in photobooth or iChat, always stand against a blank wall, not one with posters on, or thats colour is too close to your skins own so you get a more accurate dynamic backdrop and less “fuzz”.

Although a really simple trick, it’s a beauty. I had a lot of trouble getting my background effects to work nicely, tried this tip and it’s WAY better. It also helps if you have good lighting when setting up as well. Perhaps we could get some example screen caps in this post

Sadly, backdrop effects are only available to Intel Mac owners. *sigh*

to add your own backdrops go onto Photo Booth, click effects and go onto the 4th page, now save the image you want to your desktop the best place), close all other programs or make Photo Booth and your desktop the only screens visable.now drag the image on your desktop to one of the empty spaces on Photo Booth. once you have done this you can delete the images from your desktop or move them into a folder. All Done!!!!
