Stephane Says:
February 13th, 2008 at 8:33 pm

I added quite a bit of space on my dock but cant return it to its normal settings even when I return to my apple default settings. I want to get rid of the spaces between my icons completely have it as it was when I hadn’t installed dockers. How do I get this done?

HEY, Stephane...

To get rid of the spacers treat them as if they were icons and pull them out to hear the swoosh sound as the "disintegrate"they'll disappear... try it!

Hope it helps.... I had to play around this one because I had the same problem myself!

I used the docker program as well. I used the settings/stacks tab to add spacer between my icons. What this does is actually is add a space and thus shrink the size of the icons.
@ATP: if you want to change the names of more files then just 1, you sould use automator its a standard macOSX application

@nu2mac
[...]because there are some of us out here (me for 1) that don’t consider ourselves the Yoda of mac[...]
I know that I know more of mac then you do, but if you even can't do this easy things you should consider a course like "how to use a computer when you landed in the present time from the dark ages"
another trick for nu2mac: when people say, now go up with your mouse, you don't have to lift it from your desk.

@greg: http://www.leopardtricks.com/leopard/changing-your-leopard-dock

and for some nice dock's: http://leoparddocks.com/ this one also tells you how to make your dock 2D
http://leoparddocks.net/ this one I like the most

for dock separators: http://www.google.com/search?hl=nl&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=dock+separators&spell=1

If there is an easier way to tweak the dock than downloading a separate application, I know I'm interested. Rc, feel like sharing? I'm up for learning any other tricks you are willing to share, too.

To "sgeve"
Not all of us have time to go find apps like these. A lot of us don't like the dock and aren't good enough in photoshop or in the system files to change it without an app. I was only providing a way so that people didn't have to go through a lot of trouble to do what should be a simple thing. I know it might not be a "tip" but I still find it helpful, and I don't appreciate the sarcasm.
