Well if you type:
emacs
and hit enter you will enter the “emacs” thing. Then by pressing esc-X and typing “snake” or “tetris” or “pong” you can play those games. esc-X “yow” used to give a random little sentence but I don’t think that still works in Leopard.

okay, I give up. You guys can use Onyx and other 3rd party apps when they come out….I’m still interested in Terminal Commands and other Haxies I don’t know about. never mind.

Katy, you typed the command (example: “defaults write com.apple.Dock showhidden -bool YES”) and then you restarted/logged out/entered “killall Dock” and you noticed no changes?? I’m not sure why. I Just tested it again with 10.5.2…worked for me on tiger as well of course.

When I say that they don’t work, what I mean is that terminal displays a message saying that it doesn’t recognize the commands.

I had a typo in my original post. I meant that I’ve been ‘reading’ (not ready) these posts since 9A466 or whenever the sight launched and they’ve been very basic. Most of these “tricks” you can find in the information that comes w/ your computer…or by a simple search of third party apps on macosxfreeware.com

I was trying to open up the floor for other people (hopefully more knowledgeable than myself) to discuss real haxies/hacks.

For example, has anyone had any success running multiple instances of the integrated OS X Dock? I’ve heard it’s bound to a specific port which prevents this but I’m not sure if anyone’s ever gotten around the issue.

you must restart/log out or “killall Dock” after to see the changes after many of these…
