Here’s a cool trick. When in Finder, you can “quick view” a file without opening it’s associated application. Great for text files, pdf, html, php, doc, xls, and so on.
Did you know you can “quick view” the file in full screen (presentation mode) by holding down the “option” key before clicking the “quick view eye” button?

this works even with items on the desktop.
type command-Y to open a file in quick view.
type command-alt-Y to open a file in quick view’s presentation mode.
type command-Y to quit quick view.
using the arrow keys you can look at different files or folders. you can even open folders via keyword and quick view will show you it’s content.
try it on a system with 2 screens. it’s really a great feature.

For some reason, I don’t have the “quick view eye” button. I am running the updated version of Leopard. How do I go about making it appear? Thanks!

right-click in the finder window’s menu bar, and customize. You’ll need to add the quicklook button/icon to the window by dragging it there!

Try Alt-spacebar. Presto: full-screen in slide show mode.
