You can use preview in leopard not only in finder windows but on any document, folder, or file on the desktop. simply highlight the desired file and then press the space bar to view that file in preview mode.

This feature is called Quick Look, and Preview is a program that comes with Leopard that is used to view pdf files. Pressing space bar to use quick look actually saves you having to open preview.

Cool. I had previously been pressing Command + Y to do that. This saves a keystroke.

Great tip. Saves having to open a program to view a document or picture.

Check out http://www.quicklookplugins.com for a comprehensive list of ways to improve this feature. Two of my favorites are ZIP (which lets you quick look zip archives) and folder (which will quick look the contents of a folder instead of just the folder icon). This is an amazingly versatile feature, which you may want to create a separate RSS article for your subscribers.

Wow. You are an idiot. This is one of the features that Apple bragged about as to why Leopard was so great.
