I've found that the animated GIF feature consistently doesn't work with movies. Sometimes it works fine. Other times it fails to produce a file. It's frustrating.

I don't have any problem opening GIFs in Preview, though.

If you want to export the video file, not as an animated GIF but as a video, just do this:

1. Drag the movie thumbnail to Safari

2. This will play the quicktime movie in your browser

3. IF you have Quicktime Pro, you will have the ability to "Save As Source..." option in the movie menu on the bottom right of the play controls

Worked for me!

Now it is off to Youtube. Thanks Yzerman for Safair idea ; )

I don't see why you couldn't put them into iWeb! I haven't tried it. It may not animate when placing it in iWeb but it certainly will when displayed in a web browser.

Yep it works!

However, files are big (500kb +)
Most sites require small files for avatars.
Anyone know how to make them smaller, and still work?
