This is also achieved by Comd+clicking in the title bar (or at least on the title itself), and not just in Safari — try Cmd+clicking the title of a finder window to get a menu with every “step” of the path. Some other apps do this as well.
Well I tried this… comand click on theplace where you type the URL… and the place where you type the URL disappeared! the same way you drag something out of the dock! I’m sad to see it go… as now I have to work out how to get it back in order to work!

To get back the url field, just right click the toolbar and choose “Customize toolbar” and drag ‘n’ drop it into place. If the toolbar is not visible, just go to view and choose “Show toolbar”.
I meant cmd-click the title bar, not the url field.

This won’t work for me. cmd clicking anywhere just stops the function from doing anything.
