There’ll be plenty more of these, but here’re 2 I’ve spotted:

Finaly! I was waiting for this since I started using Mac. Every time I wanted trash few files and keep some others (just in case) I had to move them out of Trash. Does anyone know how I lock the files?

Just open the inspector of any file and there is a checkbox under the general tab that says locked. Check it or uncheck it.

Lol the top one is not too new, on my old 0S9 I used to have it had that feature, I used to find it annoying because when I went to chuck out random apps that I didn’t need that came with the system they were always locked. For that reason they sat in my trash for years because I never bothered to figure out how to unlock things lol…
Now I see the use in it! I’m using Tiger on my 2007 iMac, I think I am going to upgrade to Snow Leopard sometime soon…!
By the way I like the second one =)

What’s the other icon in the dock, is it an Amazon S3 client?

It is a Spyder screen calibration utility.

I had the same problem with locked trash items, and managed to empty it following the instructions in this tutorial – it works! http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1526?viewlocale=en_US
Good luck.
