most iPods (except for shuffle and Touch) can be put to sleep by holding down the play/pause button

I simply close my MacBook lid and it Sleeps.

Can’t possibly get any simpler than that…can it?

You can also use the apple remote to put your macbook to sleep by holding the play button. It even shows a cool image of a remote with zzz’s flowing off of it before it goes to sleep.

This is cool tip! In addition to that, Command+Control+Eject will Restart the machine, Command+Option+Control+Eject will Shutdown

Control+Eject will give you these various options to choose in between
