“Quick Look” is ultra cool, definitely one of my favourite Finder improvements. But what if you could improve it even more with some additional functionality.
This page has some Quick Look plugins/enhancements such as looking inside zip files with Quick Look. Pretty cool!
I especially like the Folder Quick Look Plugin which lets you look inside folders with Quick Look.

I already have the folder and zip plugins and they are great! But could you give a little more information about what the other plugins do? All I can see is a filename and I was just wondering what the other files do.

Hmmm I put the file in my Quicklook folder as described. Does it need a restart to initiate its use, because it isn’t working for me…

I’ve only seen screenshots of these, but it would be cool if they were implemented into OS X.

how does it work??? It’s not doing anything on mine….

once you’ve copied the files to /Library/Quicklook
press “cmd+option+esc” (or go to the apple menu and click on “force quit”.
highlight “Finder” and click “relaunch”. It requires Finder to restart before it works.
You wont be dissapointed!

Thanks for sharing the tip, and thanks for the info James. That saved me a good deal of tinkering. I really like this plug-in!

anyone know what the plugins that aren’t “folder” and “zip” do?

I’m guessing that the flv plug-in enables QuickLook to play Flash Video (Adobe) files using QuickTime.

I haven’t tried the other plugins, I think there’s just the three for quick look, unsure about the others. I’m loving my quick look now!

One of the best tips for Leopard I’ve seen here. Thumbs up!

Hmmm I tried the Cmd+Alt+Esc and did a relaunch. Still nothing… I have created Quicklook folders in both my Library folders also… still nothing. It does seem to be loading for a short while, but then just displays the folder and name and size etc. but doesn’t display folders within…

I restarted my computer and now it works. Finder restart did nothing however.

Justin, nice one. Of course the actual folders for the apps shouldnt go in /Library/Quicklook only the .qlgenerator files. I love this trick!

Thanks for the great tip! I think QuickLook is one of my most-used Leopard functions. Kudos to Apple for making it so extendable!

I know of two websites that are tracking new QL plugins as they come out:
