If you have the Dictionary app in the dock, you can highlight a word and just drag that to the app. Then the app should launch and give the definition.

I don’t have the Dictionary app in my dock, but I found you can right click on a word and the pop-up menu has a “Look up in Dictionary” choice.

Or you can just type the word in Spotlight and it will pull up the definition…

Now this is a truly useful tip!

I usually find words I don’t know online, so the easiest resource is dictionary.com. …but with access to the dictionary program so close, I won’t even have to wait for the dictionary.com page to load!

How do I drag the word? When I try to drag it the text gets selected
