instead of doing that, just use the spotlight to get to the stickie application and put stickies in your dock and then they can be as big as you want them to be

This tip doesn’t really make sense since the widget will try to reload the page eventually. You would have to keep the screen capture around until you didn’t need the clipping anymore, and then you’ve got the information in two places; why not just have a older on the desktop with the screen captures in it?

Ok, this is definitely a nice little tip for those of you who do use their dashboard post-it notes. However, some of the details are missing… when explained to “take a web clip of the image”, what you have to do is once you open your .png screen shot in Safari, go to File > Open In Dashboard. A box will appear… click anywhere on the screen to access its size adjustment points and ensure it covers all of your text you which to be visible in dashboard.

CLIVE… how did you get your stickies past point size 18?

I don’t know how you did that… please share. I also am posting to tell you… I believe if you delete your history, your post it will dissappear. So I would reccomend uploading to a photo sharing site and then webclipping.

David you’re right, I gently chided someone for mocking a tip and got abuse for my comment. So perhaps we should post a reminder: There are many people who read these who have very different skill levels, I for one have had over 25 years on PCs, but am a new convert to macs so just about everything, no matter how simple or trivial (or WIDELY known throughout the mac community) is very useful to me!

And as far as stickies go, I just experimented and have got the font size on my Stickies up to 288 points!! So I must admit this method in this post is one I wont use. I wonder why Pieter cant get the same font size?

Nice tip. I don’t use stickies, but this could be useful to those who do.

About your “…don’t rip me apart…” comment: I wish people wouldn’t be so critical on this site. I’ve noticed a huge drop-off in the number of posts lately. I have to wonder if people hesitate to post for fear they’ll get slammed. Lighten up people.
