I fun little thing I found when messing around with my photobooth and iChat backgrounds. When iChat/photobooth asks you to “please step out of the frame” simply cover your iSight camera with our hand. Consequently the iChat background will be your silhouette. Optimally a white background, low lighting and holding you hand about a centimeter or two from your iSight make for the best. I takes a little tweaking and playing with to get it perfect. Try it out!

this doesn’t work for me (covering isight as described)… but having a non-busy wall behind me with good lighting works well

Do not cover the iSight completely. Keep you hand about 1-2cm away from screen. Then, everything that is the same color as your hand, will become the background.
