Did you know you can easily put your mac to sleep by pressing command-option-eject (if you have a dedicated eject key on your keyboard). You’ll need to hold ‘eject’ for a couple of seconds.

How about just sleeping your display? try shift-control-eject!

Of course, if configured in system prefs, you can setup your mac’s power button to put your machine to sleep too.

Got an Apple TV? Put the video-output to sleep by pressing and holding the > (play) button. Note that this doesn’t put the Apple TV to sleep, it just shut’s off the video output.

How do I know all of these? If you don’t have a fast broadband connection, you tend to push a lot buttons. LOL!

Got any more sleepy tricks? post a comment!

Just a quick reminder that MacWorld 2008 takes place later this morning. For those of you looking for minute-by-minute coverage of the keynote, there are several choices. MacDailyNews has been a favorite in the past, and this year they are apparently using “Coverit Live,” which will apparently provide up-to-the-minute entries without the need of refreshing.

According to MacDailyNews, there are several other places to get your keynote fix, such as MacRumors (another personal favorite of mine), CNet and Mac360.

As expected, speculation is through the roof as to what will be announced. Experts predict some or all of the following to be part of the keynote:

MacBook/Pro Flash Ultra Thin MultiTouch Handheld Notebook

AppleTV update

iTunes Store movie rentals

3G iPhone and/or an update to the current iPhone.

Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac

Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2

The keynote begins at 9AM PST, 12PM EST.
