If you’re like me and don’t like to change the top volume bar in itunes you can press command and Plus to turn it up and command and dash to turn it down.

I’m quite fond of a little app (actually system pref pane) called sizzlingkeys which allows you to set a number of global hotkeys for playback and volume control in iTunes.

That way you won’t even have to switch to iTunes to change the volume (simply pressing (command-opt-down arrow) in my case.

Uh…. isn’t it command+up arrow, command+down arrow?
…and I prefer ByteController for iTunes control and hotkeys. It’s tiny and free.

Is there any one out there that knows a good program for keeping track of birthdays, anniversarys etc. I want one that I can program to give me a notification
ahead of the actual dates. The apple one seems to be useless or am I not using it properly?

iynque –> you can set the hotkeys yourself, don’t know anymore if I use the default hotkeys. ByteController seems to do exactly the same thing
. I’d consider the sizzling keys also tiny and free (although there is a pro version..).

well, i got the [command] + [arrows] for spaces, simply because you then need only one hand to switch… unfortunatly everytime i tried to make louder i tunes slides away
here is a better one – use the scroll wheel of your mighty mouse or anything else ! just hover over the slider and scroll left or right (or up or down with other mice)
enyoj your mac!

You can use the scrolling method with the trackpad too; also, iTunes doesn’t even have to be the frontmost application to do it! (especially useful in MiniPlayer mode, set to always on top!)

ooooor you could just move your hand slightly up on the keyboard and push F4 or F5
