I use a macbook with a second monitor, which I use as the main monitor. Whenever I needed to use the menubar I had to move to my notebook because OSX offers no way to change the primary monitor or to move the menubar. So I searched for another solution.

To get a non-translucent menu bar like in Tiger, go to system preferences and click on Desktop and screen saver. Then click on the desktop tab, and finally down at the bottom there is a check box where you can uncheck “Translucent Menu Bar”.

Select anything in apple apps and hit Shift+Apple Key+L, it’ll launch a google search for selected item. Works with most of the stuff but not everything.

If you want a key command for going back and forward pages in safari just press command, alt/option and either the right arrow key to go forward, or the left arrow key to go back. Easy, Fast.
